In May, 2008 I quit my job doing philanthropy and other Corporate Social Responsibility things at BabyLegs, put a blonde streak in my “virgin hair” and went back to my first love, kayaking. I am now the Program Director at the Olympic Outdoor Center in Port Gamble, putting together kayak classes, tours, events and camps.
I’m also in awe of what a little perserverance and a lot of global technology can do: friends, family and I banded together to pay for a beautiful Ugandan woman’s University Education. She’s now free to pass on the kindness and education with the world. Through instant texts, e-mails, and quarterly phone calls, this AIDS orphan with a passion to learn and I were able to put to use $3500 from friends and family to pay for her school, food, housing, books, bus tickets home and the rest of her living expenses, and she finished school in December of 2009.
I love to write, read, whitewater and sea kayak, backpack, learn, make and keep friends, play with children, plan events, create outdoor programs, help small businesses be successful and happy, draw, paint, travel around the world and such like things.

I’m currently dreaming of being a small business developer and/or a travel writer/fundraiser/world-traveling kayak instructor. Who knows what dreams tomorrow will bring…
